Gauss Light Version 8.0

Please note that files can only be downloaded via COMMAND LINE FTP, not a browser (such as Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, etc.).
You must use a command window to download the files. To open a command prompt window, click on Start, then Run, and type cmd.

Below is a list of files that you may wish to download and what each is:

GAUSS_Light_8.0_Win.zip [GAUSS Light 8.0 software]

GAUSS_8.0_Manual.zip [all documentation zipped together]

Save the files that you download to either your root directory (usually C:) or a directory that you set up that has no spaces in the title; there can be problems saving the files to a directory such as C:\Documents and Settings\. You *must* know the name of the files you wish to download.

DO NOT USE A BROWSER TO DOWNLOAD THE FILES.

To download the necessary files via command line ftp, do the following at a terminal prompt:

Type the following at the ftp prompt: open ftp.aptech.com
Once you are in the ftp.aptech.com site, type: anonymous then when prompted enter your email address as the password.
Type the following at the ftp prompt to get the files (ftp> represents the ftp prompt you should see, do not type that):
ftp> get /outgoing/GAUSS_Light_8.0_Win.zip
if prompted, offer the local filename GAUSS_Light_8.0_Win.zip
ftp> get /outgoing/GAUSS_8.0_Manual.zip
again, if prompted offer the local filename GAUSS_8.0_Manual.zip
ftp> bye
